Darkaegon is an accomplished artist, tattooer, and lifelong crafter. For over sixteen years, her work has demanded precision, patience, and the kind of commitment where every decision matters—because once it’s made, it lasts. That mindset carries straight through into Stygian Depths. Every mechanic, every system, every risk in the game exists for a reason.

Like many creators, she didn’t arrive at tabletop design through theory. She arrived through doing. Running games. Tearing systems apart. Asking what actually creates tension, meaning, and trust at the table. What started as casual play became deep obsession, then disciplined experimentation, and eventually a system built from the ground up.

Why This Game Exists

Stygian Depths was born during a difficult chapter of her life—one shaped by instability, control, and the hard work of reclaiming agency. Instead of breaking her, that period clarified what mattered. The game became a place to process survival, consequence, and choice—not as metaphors, but as mechanics. The result is a world where danger is real, decisions carry weight, and endurance is something you earn.

Outside the game, Darkaegon is a single parent, a relentless maker, and a strong advocate within alternative lifestyle communities. Those experiences inform the heart of the system more than any rulebook ever could. Stygian Depths is built on the belief that people are complex, that growth isn’t linear, and that trust at the table matters more than spectacle.

This is not a “safe” game. It isn’t meant to be. It’s meant to reward thought, teamwork, creativity, and resilience. Characters don’t follow preset paths—they evolve. Spells change. Tactics matter. Survival is never guaranteed.

The game is still growing, and it always will be. Feedback isn’t just welcome—it’s part of the process. Stygian Depths exists because of iteration, conversation, and years of careful tinkering, and it continues the same way.

This world wasn’t built overnight.
It was built patiently, deliberately, and with care.

And it’s still being shaped.
